Fast Astro, with a CMS that only does what’s needed.
Studio Monies wanted a low-maintenance site with the simplest possible CMS. Together with Vroege Oogst we built a fast Astro site with a custom gallery CMS that optimises images automatically.
The client & context
Studio Monies is a new design studio specialised in kitchens, interiors and sales styling. As a young studio they wanted to start strong online: a website that shows their work, without turning weekly maintenance into a chore. In short: low-maintenance, with the simplest CMS possible.
The challenge & our approach
“As simple as possible” sounds clear, but it needs focus: what does Studio Monies want to edit themselves, and what should they hand off? Efficiency starts with knowing where the real work sits.
The solution: After talking with Vroege Oogst, who created the design with us, we stripped things back to what was actually needed. The team mainly needs to upload images of new projects, and occasionally take an older one offline. No more than that.
The tech: So we didn’t build a heavy CMS platform. We built a fast Astro site with a small custom gallery CMS. It doesn’t just handle uploads. Images are also optimised automatically for speed, so Studio Monies never has to think about that.
The result
A fast website that does Studio Monies’ work justice, plus an editorial flow that matches how they work. Publishing new projects is just an upload. The system takes care of the rest.
